About Wob
Our story began in 2002, when a group of book loving entrepreneurs stumbled upon a bag of books in a charity shop bin, destined for landfill. They rescued them on the spot, determined to give them a second life and Wob was born. Over the last two decades, we have grown from a start-up into a leading global seller of quality used books and media, harnessing the power of the circular-economy to help more people reuse and recycle. We have a collection of eight million books and sell one somewhere in the world every two seconds – giving over 12 million books a new chapter every year.
Our Sustainable Mission
We may have grown, but our missions never changed. We exist to support charities, protect the planet and make a positive impact in the world by enabling more goods to be reused. That’s why we’ve been awarded B Corporation® (B Corps™) status – a business that meets the highest standard of social and environmental performance, public transparency and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose. In short, we care about people and the planet.
